Stornoway’s success of the Renard Mine is due, in part, to its dedicated team, but also the expertise of numerous suppliers working with us. This section aims at providing information to suppliers and potential partners of the Mine, as well as necessary documents to execute mandates.
The allocation process of contracts is based on several aspects. Competitiveness is an essential factor, cost being the first aspect of a purchase decision. In addition, Stornoway has made commitments to the Jamésian communities; the Cree communities (Mecheshoo Agreement) and Chibougamau–Chapais.
As of 2016, more than $280m worth of contracts have been awarded to companies in these communities.
